In Tierra del Fuego island, Ushuaia is the southern most city of the world and the closest to the White Continent. At the same latitude as Alaska. But South. extremely South. Founded in 1884, today is a beautiful city, surrounded by one of the most awesome landscapes of the world.

In this scenery made of white, blue and ocher, lived the native tribes, Onas and Yaghanes, surviving thanks to huge fires to warm their homes and to keep the invaders away. For this reason, 400 years ago, Magallanes baptized the region as "the Land of Fire" (Tierra del Fuego).

Both atractive and hostile Tierra del Fuego became an irresistible magnet for pirates, adventurers and scientists.
Land of mythological shipwrecks, it has seen 100 flags and 1000 vessels go by. And it has always provoked man's fascination for the unknown.

When you arrive to Ushuaia, you will no longer find the crakling bonfires along the shore. Nor pirates or bloody fights between natives and conquerors. But you will sense and feel the dauntless spirit where it all took place.

Nature in its purest state, untouched for centuries. Your eyes have seen nothing as stunning as the deep blue of the southern sea. Following the routes of the old sailors, you will sail along the Beagle Channel and visit small islands -true ecological reserves- where unique species are abound.
Everything in Ushuaia is a respectful tribute to ecology. That is way to enjoy Ushuaia you must feel a deep respect for nature and be eager to experience.
